Moving to Loretto for my junior year was rough, to say the least. Finding clubs, sports, and classes that were right for me wasn’t easy.
But through all the rough times, the late nights, and the huge schedule change I had to commit to, I found happiness through it all.
I feel like Loretto is a part of me.
Even though I haven’t been here long, I know that one day I will carry the lessons I learned this year, along with the lessons I’ll learn during my senior year, with me wherever I go.
One of the biggest parts of my junior year was joining The Prax.
At first, I honestly didn’t know what to expect, but it quickly became one of the places where I felt the most comfortable.
Writing as the Entertainment Editor for The Prax gave me a space where I could express myself, share my ideas, and connect with people I may not have talked to otherwise.
Even though there were stressful deadlines and long nights trying to finish stories, I wouldn’t trade the experience for anything.
The Prax became more than just a class or a newspaper to me, it became a place where I felt heard and supported.
I want to thank Mrs. Lockhart for always encouraging us and creating an environment where we could be creative and confident in our writing.
I also want to thank everyone in The Prax for making me laugh, helping me grow, and making this year unforgettable.
Before this year, I was nervous about starting over somewhere new, but The Prax helped me become more confident in myself and my abilities.
It taught me how to speak up, work with others, and trust my own voice.
Most importantly, it helped me realize that sometimes the places you are most afraid of ending up become the places that change you the most.
As I head into senior year, I know I’ll continue to carry everything The Prax has taught me, both inside and outside the classroom.
Thank you for reading, and goodbye for now.
