Walking into journalism class for the first time my junior year, I knew immediately I had found my community.
While we were a small group of students, we immediately bonded over every current event discussion, writing workshop, and publication.
Being Co-editor-in-chief this school year, I wanted to make The Prax a space where everyone could feel comfortable, supported, and appreciated for all their hard work, and I truly feel I was successful in this goal.
Another goal of mine was to get more people to read The Prax, and with the help of my partner Marifer, and all the staff, we were able to accomplish this goal with our scavenger hunt word searches.
We truly made The Prax more noticed in our community, and I am so proud of that.
I feel truly grateful and proud of the work and the stories that I was able to create, and I can’t wait to carry into next year all that I have learned.
While some moments were challenging, the staff worked together to create a newspaper that I feel truly represents what the student body of Loretto stands for.
I want to thank all my fellow journalists, Viviana, Marifer, Laura, Ava, and Lyle for always putting their best work into their stories and cooperating with the deadlines.
To my partner and co-editor-in-chief, Marifer, thank you for always being someone I could come to with any problems, and making this year so fun and special.
Thank you to our Adviser, Mrs. Lockhart-Walker, for trusting Marifer and I to run The Prax, and for always supporting and sticking up for us.
I am so grateful for all the friendships, lessons, and leadership I have learned from this year, and I can’t wait to start writing again next year.
But until then, goodbye for now and thank you to everyone for reading!
