The Loretto Academy Athletic Association (LAA)  hosted its annual sports banquet on April 22, a night dedicated to recognizing the hard work, dedication, and achievements of student-athletes across all sports programs.

The event was organized by LAA officers Ava Bella Muñoz, Issabella Muñoz, Doryan Nassri, Mia Velazquez, and Alyssa Robledo, who helped plan and set up the ceremony to ensure a meaningful celebration for all teams.

Their efforts created an evening that highlighted both athletic success and school pride.

Throughout the banquet, athletes from every sport were honored with a variety of awards, including: MVP, Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, and the Angel Award, which recognizes outstanding character, leadership, and sportsmanship.

One of the most notable recognitions of the night went to junior basketball player Claire Nowak, who received the Women of Will award.

This was awarded to Claire for having the highest GPA as a student-athlete.

Her achievement highlighted the balance between academic excellence and athletic commitment that Loretto encourages in its students.

In addition, senior Sofia Avila was awarded the highly anticipated Student Athlete of the Year.

She is a varsity volleyball and flag football player who is known for excellence on both the court and field.

The coach of the year award went to our well loved track and cross country coach, coach Joe, who has had the privilege of receiving this award on multiple occasions.

Overall, the sports banquet served as a celebration of teamwork, dedication, and achievement, bringing together athletes, coaches, and families to reflect on a successful year in Loretto athletics.
