Loretto Academy’s varsity volleyball team recently took on the Cathedral High School senior student council in a volleyball match at the highly anticipated “Battle of the Sexes” on November 19.

This event was organized by the Loretto Athletic Association officers in the gym and was a major success.

The students of Loretto Academy cheered loud and proud alongside the cheerleaders, showcasing their angel pride. 

Adding to the excitement, Dr.  Benavidez from the science department proudly stepped in to coach Loretto and ultimately brought them to victory in a third-set thriller.

Varsity volleyball player junior Olivia Montelongo said, “It was honestly really fun because I got to play with the seniors one more time, it was a great experience to have with them.”

The friendly competition overall brought the team even closer and made the event feel like a memorable celebration of teamwork and school pride.

This game not only highlighted athletic talent but also strengthened the sense of community between both schools, leaving students filled with excitement, awaiting next year’s showdown.
