Receiving the honor of the Questbridge College Match is something only a few students achieve; however, two Loretto Seniors, Valeria Arellano and Marina Delgado, were awarded this prestigious scholarship.

QuestBridge is a non-profit organization connecting high-achieving and/or low-income students with top colleges, while the National College Match is a program where students apply for early admission with a guaranteed full, four-year scholarship.

The announcement was made on December 5, recognizing the hard work of the two girls.

The Process

After submitting their applications containing essays, letters of recommendation, and transcripts in late September, they are carefully reviewed.

Some students go on to the next step of becoming a finalist, then are ranked by up to 12 colleges by early November.

Then comes the exciting Match Day, where the student matches up with one school and is committed to attending that school for the next four years.

Valeria Arellano matched with Stanford University in Palo Alto, California.

The pair is congratulated for their hard work and is recognized for their outstanding academic achievements, embodying Loretto’s core values.
