As exciting traditions continue, one for the sophomores is going to the Sisters of Loretto Motherhouse, where Loretto Academy and their sister schools gather for a time for community and learning.

In Kentucky, the Motherhouse is located around an hour from Louisville and is on a large farm, with two small lakes and several acres of land.

At the Sisters of Loretto Motherhouse, there are about 40 Sisters of Loretto and another 55 Sisters who are in the nursing care facility.

In total, 12 girls are chosen from the three sister schools, four from each school and this year’s Motherhouse group are Analee Garza, Giovanna Cervantes, Kayla Anderson, and Chantal .

The tradition continues as this group will travel to Nerinx, Kentucky to meet other students from the Nerinx Hall and St. Mary’s Academy.

The activities that they will be participating includes, painting, gardening, cleaning, visiting the retired sisters in the infirmary and helping at a Loretto sponsored mission.

Sophomore Analee Garza said, “I am so excited and honored to be chosen for this amazing opportunity, I can’t wait to meet new people from our sister schools.”

They will leave Saturday, May 5th and come back on June 5th, spending time with the sisters of Loretto in the beautiful countryside of Kentucky.
