During the week of April 13-17, Loretto Academy held its annual Foundations Day and Mass, as well as Giving Day, both playing crucial roles to the schools legacy and impact.
Foundations Day, Mass
On April 23, the Foundations Day Mass was hosted in the gym celebrating the various accomplishments throughout each grade level.
This Mass was to recognize the 103rd year since the founding of Loretto Academy and it shows how much it has changed.
Starting with pre-K and ending with the senior class of 2026, every grade brought up a symbol or object that was part of their service learning project.
These impressive efforts show how much Loretto is involved throughout the community, making lasting impacts for years to come.
Not only were the students being celebrated, the beloved sisters of the Loretto community renewed their vows of faith.
It was a touching moment, seeing the hard work and dedication become evident through their vows.
As the seven of them gathered and finished the renewal, each class lifted their hands and gave their blessing and thanks to these empowering women who have helped to shape and change the lives of many Loretto students and families.
Giving Day
Loretto’s Giving Day was on April 17, and it is an important date in the school calendar not only because of the money donated, but because of the impact it has for the schools legacy and future for incoming students.
The initial goal was to match $100,000 and it was surpassed, reaching the $200,000 goal.
This is thanks to each and every of the 250 donors and for their support of the school, ensuring that Loretto Academy continues to thrive.
For the athletic funding part of Giving Day, the money raised is going to a new LED scoreboard.
This will help ensure that every victory and game is seen clearly with technical systems that work and are up to date.
The buildings and grounds fund are a vital part of Loretto’s maintenance and well-being as last year’s funds that were raised were used for a much needed HVAC system being implemented.
This year, the funds will go to projects around the school such as roof improvements to ensure the safety of students and teachers across the campus.
Lastly, the funds also are towards tuition assistance, making the Loretto education possible for all students.
This is all made possible because of the donors, whether its students, families or alumni, every cent is appreciated, because of its lasting impact that it has on the school.
These important days in the school year reminds the students how important the community coming together is and how one small action can change the lives of many students.
