The 2025-2026 swim season is officially here, and the team is getting ready to begin another exciting year.
The season began on August 15 with a total of 15 girls on the team.
Senior team captain Laura Olvera-Escobar is focused on bringing the swimmers closer together, fostering unity, and motivating them to push harder in practice.
Her goal is to see more girls qualify for the state meet in February 2026.
Junior swimmer Ivanna Garcia said, “My goal is to improve my times as well as my technique and stay consistent throughout the season.”
The season has been centered on building speed, endurance, and technique to prepare the team for the challenging competitions ahead.
The first important meet this season was the City Invitational hosted by Loretto Academy and Cathedral High School on November 7th and 8th, where the team faced some of the best swimmers in the city.
Their next exciting meet will be the City Invitational hosted by EPISD this upcoming weekend on November 21st and 22nd.
This will be followed by regionals in January 2026, which will determine the qualifiers for the state meet.
With strong leadership, consistent training, and motivated swimmers, the team is more than ready to make an impact to achieve new personal and team goals this season.
