The 2025-2026 school year has brought many changes, including the introduction of two new teachers into the Loretto High School staff.
New to Loretto this year, Mr. Wolf and Mr. Redmond, who bring fresh perspectives and diverse teaching experiences, ensure their students are learning in a way that is exciting and new each day.
The Loretto teachers and students welcome these two new faces as they begin a new chapter in their journey as Loretto Angels.
New variable in the equation
Mr. Wolf, the new addition to the math department, teaches precalculus and calculus, both regular and AP classes.
Before becoming a Loretto Angel, Mr. Wolf taught at two different middle schools for nine years before transitioning to high school and teaching at Burges High School for 21 years.
On his inspiration to pursue a teaching career, Mr. Wolf said, “I like children more than I like adults.”
Loretto Academy is Mr. Wolf’s first experience teaching at a private school, which he expressed felt the same but different in many aspects from public school.
About his expectation on the first day, Mr. Wolf said, “I honestly didn’t know what to expect because I have never worked at an all-girls school, so I felt very open-minded towards everything.”
So far, Mr Wolf’s experience has been positive, with no negative reactions or experiences.
Mr. Wolf’s witty and informative personality keeps students engaged and prepared coming into the classroom each day.
Welcome to Loretto, Mr. Wolf!

New story in history
Mr. Redmond, the new addition to the history department, teaches world history and US history, both regular and AP courses.
Mr. Redmond has taught since 2015 at Catholic schools in St. Petersburg, Florida, during graduate school, and later in the Washington D.C. area for eight years.
Discussing his inspiration to begin teaching, Mr. Redmond said, “I grew up in a family of teachers… so it was always the kind of thing I knew I would wind up doing.”
Georgetown Visitation in Washington D.C., the school Mr. Redmond had most previously taught at, was also an all-girls school with a strong sense of community.
On his expectation when first coming into Loretto, Mr. Redmond said, “Coming from one all-girls school to another, I was hoping to find this same sense of community, and I feel like I did.”
Almost halfway into the school year, Mr. Redmond’s experience has been promising.
He was excited to share that he has gotten past the period of acclimation and is able to enjoy his time with his students.
Mr. Redmond’s positive and animated energy makes walking into his classroom feel less like a lesson and more like an adventure to learn.
Welcome to Loretto, Mr Redmond!

Different stories, same destination
Although Mr. Wolf and Mr. Redmond come from different backgrounds, their commitment to following and applying the Loretto Core Values in their classrooms is a testimony to their character and long future at this school.
Both teachers have already begun making their impact as their students are inspired through the commitment they display every day.
As the year continues, the Loretto Community is excited to see what Mr. Wolf and Mr. Redmond will accomplish as they grow into their wings.
