On Wednesday April 29, Loretto Academy held the Ring Rose ceremony, a tradition that brings juniors and seniors together.
It felt like one of those moments where everything is changing especially for the class of 2026 since it is one of their last events in their high school years.
The upperclasswomen arrived dressed up in dresses and heels; which made the whole event feel special and it was noticeable that the girls had been waiting for this moment for a long time.
There were yellow roses and white flowers everywhere decorating the space and especially around the arch, making it almost dreamlike which added to the feeling that this was not just another school event.
Ceremony
Each senior and junior pair called Biggie and Little walked down the aisle together while parents watched proudly and underclasswomen waited nervously and excited at the same time imagining when it would finally be their turn.
The senior secretary Natalia Espino led a prayer which made everything feel more real and emotional, then the junior class president Emma Terrazas and vice president Maria Jose Retana spoke first, about their past years and that they are excited to start their senior year in the fall.
Lastly, the senior leaders, president Gianna Guerra and vice president Ava Muñoz reflected on the high school journey of class of 2026.
They shared how it feels like just yesterday they were freshmen, and told the underclasses to not take any moment for granted, as they thanked teachers and friends who supported them throughout their years.
Bittersweet ending
Mrs. Cobb spoke before Mrs. Tovar gave a speech about growing up moving forward and appreciating everything the school has given.
They also announced the recipient for a scholarship, to upcoming senior Emma Muñiz, and everyone got to hear good things the teacher said about her and why she deserves it.
After that Principal Tovar called each pair to walk under the flower arch where they exchanged gifts, juniors receiving their rings and seniors getting yellow flowers which made the moment feel really symbolic.

This was also the last Ring Rose for the class of 2026 which made everything feel even more emotional as seniors took pictures, hugged each other and said goodbye while juniors stepped into their new beginning.
