Monday March 24, 2025 signified the beginning of SHOUT week at Loretto Academy.
SHOUT week stands for students helping out, and is a tradition at Loretto Academy made possible by the student council with the goal of bringing the school together to help the community.
With a series of fundraising activities, SHOUT week gives students and faculty an opportunity to donate and be a part of global change.
The kickoff to SHOUT week started with pajama and meditation day, where students were able to come to school in comfy attire and have the chance to leave class and meditate.

Tuesday was movie day, each class period had the opportunity to go to the Little Theater where a variety of movies were shown such as, The Notebook, Descendants, and 10 Things I Hate About You.
On wednesday the student council worked hard in the kitchen to provide students with a large selection of breakfast food, including hot pancakes.
Thursday consisted of two fundraising opportunities including a bake sale, and a Chamoyada.
Additionally, on Thursday the National Honor Society hosted the spring blood drive which encouraged not only Loretto students but the El Paso community to give back by giving blood.
Friday March 28, 2025 marked the end of a successful SHOUT week and was celebrated with an assembly in the gym which included a series of games.
Freshman student Maya Hernandez experienced her first ever SHOUT week at Loretto Academy.
She said “SHOUT week was so much fun, I really enjoyed it.”
“My favorite day was movie day, because it was fun and I got to see The Notebook, which I have never seen before.”
Community is one of Loretto Academy’s key values, and SHOUT week signifies how big changes can be made when communities come together through acts of service, participation, and fun.
SHOUT week not only unifies Loretto Academy, but lifts the entire El Paso community as a whole, making global impacts by standing as one.
