Dance with meaning

Students arrived at the Elmont Event Center on April 11 dressed in sparkling gowns and tuxedos, ready to celebrate one of the biggest high school traditions.

Senior Prom Queen ,Precious Pierre said, “Our senior class raised prom funds through a tote bag project that became a huge success showing pride and teamwork last year.”

Colorful decorations, loud music, and flashing lights transformed the venue into an atmosphere where classmates and staff spent the evening dancing, laughing, and creating lasting memories.

Many students gathered with friends before prom to take pictures, share excitement online, and prepare for an unforgettable night filled with celebration and school spirit.

Precious said, “My experience at prom was amazing dancing with friends all night and being named prom queen was a shocking but incredibly joyful surprise.”

Throughout the evening, students crowded the dance floor together whenever popular songs
played, especially during line dances that encouraged nearly everyone to participate
enthusiastically.

Junior Isabella Farina, who participated in the prom court, said, “The experience became even more meaningful because I celebrated the night surrounded by close friends.”

Isabella said, “Personally, I had a very good time with my friends,”while describing how often
she joined classmates dancing together throughout the exciting evening.

Students also enjoyed taking group photographs at the photo booth, socializing between songs, and celebrating the end of another school year while making memories.

Suggestions included selecting a venue with stronger air conditioning because spring temperatures become extremely warm, making crowded dances less comfortable for students
attending prom.

Precious said, “I would tell students not to knock it till you try it because prom with friends is a
memorable experience worth attending.”

This year’s prom brought students together for a memorable evening filled with music, friendship, dancing, and celebration.
