Students will mark Valentine’s Day through the annual International Club rose exchange, a fundraiser designed to connect friendships while supporting student-led service projects with Loretto and Cathedral.
International Club president, Camila Otero said, “My plans for the rose exchange are to create memories, spark friendships, and raise money for future plans across the school community.”
The exchange allows students to anonymously send roses between Loretto and Cathedral friends as a small act of a friendly gesture.

Organizers of the event say that sending a rose is a kind thing to do and allows students to express appreciation in a meaningful way.
Reflecting on the emotional impact, Camila said, “What excites me the most is seeing everyone’s reactions when they discover who sent a rose and taking a moment to laugh with friends.”
The tradition has remained meaningful over the past three years because it offers students a brief pause from their workload and gives students a reason to smile this Valentine’s Day season.
Through the International Club’s efforts, the club members raised enough funds to purchase more than 100 roses and will distribute them February 13 after careful organization and preparation.
Club members created name tags, arranged flowers and sorted deliveries by class, while faculty support and teamwork ensured the exchange could operate smoothly between both schools.
Looking toward student leadership Camila said, “My goal is to create lasting memories while mentoring younger members so they feel confident leading projects and counting this tradition in future years.
The club hopes to expand community outreach in the future through toy drives, food drives, and other service opportunities that bring a meaningful experience to the Loretto students and family.
