During their annual trip to the United Nations headquarters, Loretto Academy students accompanied by head sponsor Mrs. Pasaret had the privilege of attending a broadway showing of The Great Gatsby.
Mrs. Pasaret said, “The girls definitely understood the assignment regarding the dress code. They all dressed very nicely.”
A new musical adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby directed by Marc Bruni, brings the roaring twenties to life through lavish sets and vibrant choreography.
Similar to the book, the show explores themes of love, ambition, and the American Dream.
Senior Mariana Fernandez said, “Having read the book in Mrs. Lockhart’s class definitely helped me understand the plotline of the play much better.”
“I was on the edge of my seat the whole time but my favorite part was definitely the parties.”
Running since its premiere in 2024, the show has gained massive praise for its energetic and immersive storytelling, with performances scheduled through at least September 2025.
