On October 17, 2018 Shawn Mendes, a nineteen year old singer from Toronto, Canada came to El Paso.

He performed at the Don Haskins Center to a sold out audience filled with fans.

The concert lasted around one hour, starting at around 7:45 P.M. and ending at 8:50 P.M.

The show played Mendes’ original songs and included covers of others, such as “Thinking About You” by Frank Ocean.

Throughout the 2018 year, Mendes has performed in many outdoor festivals and had not had a concert indoors, making the El Paso show unique.

The show included a surprise visit from Khalid, the famous 20 year old singer from El Paso, Texas.

He performed two songs, one he co-wrote with Mendes ‘Youth’, and one of his own songs,  ‘Young, Dumb, and Broke’.

Once the concert ended, the audience chanted for Mendes to come on stage and sing one more song.

Despite the chants, the singer did not comply but rather remained backstage while everyone left.

After everyone was out of the building, Mendes posted a picture in the changing room with a basketball claiming “great game tnt”.

After the picture was posted, many fans waited by where the tour bus was hoping to meet him.

At the end of the night, the tour bus pulled away and the fans cheered on for the singer.
