                                                               Memory lane

As a child, anytime I heard that the fair was in town on the local news I jumped for joy and planned an evening of carnival fun with my family.

Flash-forward to now, when the Big El Paso Fair just came to town and of course, I had a blast.

All of the nostalgia came back as I walked through the gates and saw children laughing a merry-go-round and a long line of people waiting for a funnel cake.

On April 8th, I went to the fair with my parents, three sisters, and my little brother.

In advance, my mom purchased Mega Pass tickets at Walgreens which included admission for the fair rides.

Parking was very accessible and was a short walk to the counter where we showed out tickets.

The Big El Paso Fair made its way to Ascarate Park from Friday, March 31 2023 to Sunday, April 16, 2023.

The fun-filled carnival will have all sorts of entertainment for kids, fair rides, music, food, magic shows, and more.

Many entertainers headlined the event including Kids Celebration, Max Power & NITRO, Majestik Spectacular, and more.

                                                Experience to remember

Upon arrival, I instantly noticed the bright lights and familiar games.

There were lots of people there, but we first headed to a spinning teacup ride.

Although to me, this ride was very mild if you asked my mom it would be a different story.

As the night went on we hopped on more rides, most of them being a 10-15 minute wait.

The longest wait I had to wait was for the bumper cars and it was kind of pointless because the cars weren’t on for long.

Besides the Ferris wheel and bumper cars, the rest of the rides were meant to make you dizzy.

My brother really enjoyed playing with the foam that was dispensing.

There were also prize games located around the park’s perimeter.

Due to inflation, food was more expensive than I remember but there was a variety of options.

There was loud music blasting through the carnival and the spirit was alive the whole night.

I am so glad I shared this experience with my family because it was a time filled with fun and memories that will last a lifetime.
