#Free Britney movement rises

Back in 2008 Britney Spears was put under the  conservatorship of her dad and at the age of 38 she still is; however, angry and worried fans launched the ‘Free Britney Movement’ to bring awareness.

After the pop star’s public breakdown back in 2008 she was entered into a psychiatric hospital for a mental health evaluation.

Jamie Spears, Britney Spears’ father, has had for over a decade complete control of her daughter’s ‘financial and medical affairs.’

Mr. Spears first asked for a “temporary” conservatorship as his daughter couldn’t properly take care of herself due to her recent mental struggles.

She has been blocked from making her own decisions, choosing her doctors or lawyers, and even taking care of her children.

Stars like Cher, Miley Cyrus, Sarah Jessica Parker, Courtney Love, and others  have addressed Spears’ conservatorship.

The movement was initially thought as a joke, however it gained popularity with time.

During the first months of 2020, the movement did a 180 degree turn as Britney’s younger sister Jamie Lynn Spears, actress and singer, requested to be her sister’s assets only custodian.

It is said that if the Nickelodeon’s star, Jamie Lynn Spears, is given Britney’s custody things could get better.

Angered fans thirsty for justice for the pop star, protested outside Los Angeles’ court  mid pandemic in July 2020.

However, supposedly Britney Spears requested Jodi Montgomery to replace her father, but yet no changes still.

Although Spear’s legal battle with her father remains ongoing, celebrities, fanatics and the media are  anxious for what the pop star’s future  lays ahead.
