This year’s Grammy Awards ceremony is being formatted to follow the regulations regarding Covid-19 and the prevention of the spread of the virus as it was postponed.

Through past ceremonies it has always been held on January 31st, due to the pandemic the ceremony is expected to be hosted on March 14th.

2021 was supposed to be a brand-new start for the Grammys because of the accusations that were made against them the prior year.

The bombshell accusations were made by the former chief, Deborah Dugan, who said that Neil Portnow and Joel Katz participated in sexual misconduct which both denied and it resulted into her being fired and replaced.

Now with that history behind them, the Grammys are taking extra precautions and are ensuring that everyone is safe during the production and maintaining the required social-distancing.

Henry Mason Jr., Chair and Intern President/CEO of the Recording Company,  Jack Sussman, Executive Vice President, Specials, Music, Live Events and Alternative Programming, and Ben Winston, Grammy Awards Executive Producer, made statements that were put into a joint statement about the rescheduled Grammy Awards ceremony.

Henry Mason Jr. said, “After thoughtful conversations with health experts, our host and artists scheduled to appear, we are rescheduling the 63rd Annual GRAMMY Awards® to be broadcast Sunday, March 14, 2021.”

Jack Sussman said, “The deteriorating COVID situation in Los Angeles, with hospital services being overwhelmed, ICUs having reached capacity, and new guidance from state and local governments have all led us to conclude that postponing our show was the right thing to do.”

Ben Winston also expressed his thoughts on the postponing of the ceremony.

Winston said, “Nothing is more important than the health and safety of those in our music community and the hundreds of people who work tirelessly on producing the show.”

Hosts, CEOs, and producers are working to proceed as well as considering the safety and well-being of their staff members, artists, and nominees during this wondrous occasion.

Even though this year has been a struggle for most folks throughout the globe, it has been difficult to break away from traditional events that are key to the music industry.

According to Henry Mason Jr., Jack Sussman, Ben Winston and the rest of the Grammy’s staff, it was the correct course of action to thoughtfully address all concerns.

Though it’s postponed, people are still preparing for any challenges ahead, but are very happy about the event’s future premiere date.

With a new date to premiere the show, everyone at the Grammy Awards is still excited to go to the ceremony that has been happening for 62 soon to be 63 years now.
