This global pandemic has put a halt on many Loretto Academy traditions,  however the Loretto Angels in the Wings Theatre Company is doing everything they can to make this year memorable.

From putting on amazing productions last year such as the annual Loretto Horror Show and the Bloody Murder play, the company has come to a screeching halt this year.

Though hopeful for the future President of Loretto Angels in the Wings Theatre Company, Samantha Dungan, reminisced on the last production the team put on, Bloody Murder.

Samantha Dungan said, “Looking back on that production, I was really glad that we picked that one because it brought a lot of new talent on and off of the stage.”

Thespian, Elizabeth Gunnison, had this to say about the iconic production, “It was different and hilarious and brought so much energy to the Little Theater.”

As of now, the company does not plan to put on any in-person productions this year due to social distancing restrictions.

However, this decision can change as developments are made concerning the Covid-19 virus.

Many members expressed what they hope to accomplish as a team this year.

Sydney Dungan, Head of Tech said, “I want to produce the musical we had planned for last year at the very least, and maybe get a straight play or a one-act in if we have time.”

Secretary, Amanda Torres, shared the same hope for the cancelled production saying, “My

hopes for this year is that we could finish off the musical we didn’t get to perform in the spring of 2020.”

The musical Dungan and Torres referred to, Leader Of The Pack, was scheduled for April of 2020, but evidently got cancelled due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

President Samantha Dun gan expressed her main focus for the company and its members this year saying, “I want to teach the future leaders of the club and the new members this year how to run a production and how to have fun while doing it.”

The company has many plans in the works that will provide present future members with the tools that they will need to succeed as a company.

The unconfirmed plans include virtual workshops for all members of the company, instruction books, and powerpoints.

New members of the company will be taught the art of drama and the fun that comes along with it.

Though nothing is set in stone due to the climate of the community, Loretto Angels in the Wings Theatre Company has many exciting plans that are sure to bring entertainment to the Loretto community.
