Disney+ stirs up nostalgia

Adrienne Deslongchamps, Co-Editor-in-Chief

The highly-promoted and long-awaited Disney+ rolled out onto the United States markets on November 12, 2019.

Disney+ is a streaming service created by the Walt Disney Company, and it has become a strong competitor to other streaming services such as Netflix, HBO, and Hulu.

According to the Disney+ website, its content library includes movies and/or television shows from Disney, Pixar, Marvel Studios, Star Wars, and National Geographic.

Disney+’s reception has already been overwhelmingly positive; on its release date, so many people downloaded the application at once that the service crashed for many.

According to USA Today, the crashes have — for the most part — been fixed.

Disney+ boasts over 500 films and 7,000 television episodes for $6.99 per month or $69.99 per year.

Many of these titles — such as WALL-E or High School Musical — will be familiar to long-time Disney fans, but the streaming service also includes new releases, such as The Mandalorian.

Those interested in downloading Disney+ can visit DisneyPlus.com directly or can purchase the application through Amazon, Apple, Google, LG Smart TVs, Microsoft Xbox One, Samsung Smart TVs, or Sony Entertainment.

The nostalgia and endless hours of entertainment are well worth the monthly subscription.
