December 13, 2018 was the night for the angels of Orchesis to rise up and spread their wings with their graceful techniques and pounding movements.

Mrs. Cecilia Cortez presented Loretto Academys orchesis dance group and expressed her pride over them as she said, I have been gifted with beautiful ballet dancers.

The show began with a song that represents Loretto women called Boss Ladyand was followed by a song called Castle by Halsey as it was powerfully choreographed by senior Grecia Rosales.

The show continued with a graceful taste of The Nutcracker performed by Paula Cardenas and Belycia Rivas for the Chinese section and Rebecca Terrazas and Victoria Villareal for the Spanish section.

There was even a song presented by Loretto freshman, Danielle Leydon as she sang Let It Snow.

After performing brilliant and exhilarating dances as well as emotional and moving motion, the girls were overjoyed by their overall exhibition.

Senior Grecia Rosales said, The dance I choreographed was my favorite one but I am sad because it has been my first and last Christmas recital.

Some of the dancers were emotional about their performance, however.

Senior Emilia Mandujano said, I feel very sad because it is my last Christmas recital after four years of dancing and working very hard on each dance routine.

But I am happy because I got to participate and because I have made a family that I will remember forever and I am very happy that I had the opportunity to dance.

The show ended with Mrs. Cortez saying, This is a very special performance because fourteen years ago today my little Sofia was four years old.

This is last year for the seniors to do a showcase for Christmas as well as Cortezdaughter, Sofia’s, last year of high school.

The world needs to prepare itself for these talented dancing angels, because they are about to spread their wings and show their talent to everyone that is there to see.
