Farewell for now

Farewell for now

Katerina Liano, Staff Reporter

When I walked into journalism class for the first time, I didn’t know exactly what to expect.

The Prax was something that I hadn’t heard much about before.

I never really paid attention to the news or to whatever was happening at school.

Then, I was introduced to writing for a school newspaper and then it was like doors were opened for me.

I had to be aware of what was happening around me and pay attention to my surroundings and events.

I’ve never talked to a lot of people outside of my grade, but with writing stories on all kinds of subjects, I’ve spoken to students of every grade.

My writing skills have significantly improved, and I have also learned many different types of writing styles.

I learned how to look at things from different angles to find out the whole story and see both sides.

I also learned how to manage my time, especially when there were deadlines for stories.

Learning responsibility so that I wouldn’t put stress on my fellow reporters was also something that I had to accept this year,

Overall, I am grateful for the opportunity to write for the Prax and expand my knowledge of journalism so that I can take it with me wherever I go.
