As the school year ends, Loretto Angels are on track to select new class officers to represent the student body in the upcoming 2023-2024 school year.

Seniors will also vote on student body representatives who will lead the school in announcements every morning and will help organize Loretto’s class events.

Current juniors who acquire a leadership position will receive a leadership period next year to help plan these beautiful traditions that make Loretto, Loretto.

As senior representatives graduate, they left a few words for those committed to filling their shoes.

Student Body President Eloisa Urrea said, “Being student body president has been one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve had at Loretto.

It gave me many opportunities to challenge my creativity, work ethic, and patience.

My advice is to be as inclusive as you can, spread kindness, and be positive.

You may be the next head of the student body but you are an image and an example to everyone around you.”

Leading and representing the school is not a responsibility to be taken lightly; their job is to advocate for and communicate with their classmates.

Student Body Vice-President Anabella Aguilar said, “I would have never imagined the impact that this experience has had on my life.

It has given me numerous opportunities and taught me the importance of responsibility, commitment, and inclusion.

I did not take the power of being a voice for my classmates lightly and aside from the games there are a lot of responsibilities to make activities enjoyable.

I hand my blessing to the future representatives and don’t worry we’ll leave a manual behind in case you have any questions!”

Current sophomores and juniors may also run for a position.

All candidates have a week to campaign for themselves, which includes posting a maximum of six posters around the school.

Students will hear the candidates deliver a short speech during long homeroom and later vote on who they believe will serve as an advocate for their concerns at school.

Before running for any position, all students must be registered and be free of any significant disciplinary referral or suspension on their record.

Class elections will take place on May 2nd where students will have the chance to let their voices be heard and opinions seen.

On May 3rd, the results of the election were announced at the end of the day.

The following students have been selected to lead the student body and their respective grade levels.

Student Body President: Christiane Tapia

Vice-President: Maria Joaquina Fuentes

Junior President: Brianna Farrish
