The track season started off in January and will continue until the end of April.

The track team is led by Coach Joe and Coach Moriah, class of 2018 alumnae.

So far the team has been doing well and has medaled in a number of meets.

Most of the team are sprinters, and they compete in the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 100m hurdles, 300m hurdles, 4x100m relay, and the 4x200m relay.

Many of the team members have achieved their personal records during the track meets.

Recently, the team competed at Mountain View High School on March 24 and 25.

This was the first time that varsity competed in the 4x100m and 4x200m relays, and successfully placed second in the 4x100m and third in the 4x200m.

Track Captain and Loretto junior Amelie Juarez said, “My hope for the next season is to finish all my years of track since I’ve been doing it since seventh grade.

I just hope to enjoy it and enjoy the team.”

One of the bigger accomplishments that the track team has achieved is earning second place in the 4×100 relay.

Loretto sophomore Melania Martinez said, “I hope to be able to shorten my time in the 400m dash and maybe try hurdles next season.”

The track team will undoubtedly continue to shine and make the school proud.
