For Loretto seniors, meeting deadlines and submitting college applications brings about a stressful time of the year.

Seniors are dedicating many hours to compiling essays, forms, and transcripts for college applications.

The seniors have many responsibilities to attend to before they graduate from high school and move on to the next chapter of their lives.

An anonymous senior said, “I’m worried whether or not I’ll be accepted into the schools I choose.”

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many colleges are temporarily not requiring standardized test scores when making admissions.

Other colleges have made the permanent decision to use other factors to determine the academic ability of applicants.

However, many Loretto seniors are planning on taking the SAT.

In a poll on The Prax Instagram account, 65% of the seniors said they plan to take the SAT this year.

The remaining 35% of seniors said they do not plan to take the SAT this year.

Additionally, 92% of the seniors said the COVID-19 pandemic was a disadvantage and affected their academic learning.

Can Loretto help the seniors relieve the stress they have been facing since the beginning of the school year in August?

An anonymous senior said, “Maybe by not telling us all of the deadlines we need to meet, [the teachers could] just give us a paper with the deadlines, so we worry about the deadlines ourselves.

They really shouldn’t pressure us that much [because] it’s not good nor healthy.”

Upon returning to in-person classes, seniors are focused on applying to their dream colleges while making their last year of high school memorable.
