Regionals took place on the 23 of March in San Antonio, Texas and the team gave a great effort for the best possible outcome, plus the girls were awarded first place for the team award and the end of the tournament.

Singles got second place, Sophia Borrego, doubles one won first place, Victoria Chiu and Isabela Diaz, double two got second place, Julieta Cavazos and Emma Isaac.

The girls were saddened with the outcome but tried their best, played hard until the end, and made the Loretto community very proud!

After regionals, the team passed to State which took place in Waco, Texas on April 6th.

“As a senior, my experience in tennis was so rewarding. Off the court, I met so many wonderful people that pushed me to be better. Being on the court has taught me how to overcome challenges. Even though it was hard sometimes, I continued fighting to improve.” said senior, Sophia Borrego. Fellow senior Juileta Cavazos said “State was an awesome experience, especially because this was my last year playing. My top priority was to spend time with the team and enjoy the last few times I had playing with them. I was not worried about winning or losing, just having fun and cheering my girls on. It was truly an unforgettable experience.”

Though the season is over, the team got to enjoy and spend time together for one last time for this season!
