Senior swimmer Analia Cortez has been swimming for over 10 years and has been a part of the Loretto Swim Team since her freshman year.

“My favorite part of swimming has to be the teammates and the banter we can have with one another,” said Cortez.

She has qualified for State for the past three years and has helped her team to back-to-back Regional Championships.

Cortez has medaled in her individual and relay events at Regionals the past three years.

Loretto Assistant coach, Sara Morales said,  “Analia is extremely hardworking, she elevates both herself and her team at practice.”

Her constant effort in the pool allows for her to be a wonderful teammate as they can race one another.

Long-time teammate Lauren Barajas said, “I love Analia, and I’m honestly really glad I’ve been able to participate in the sport I love with someone like her by my side to make it better.”

Analia and her fellow teammates are set to head to regionals in late January, where they will race for the chance to attend State.

The Loretto community wishes Analia the best of luck going into her senior season.
