She has been a solid contributor to the Loretto Cross Country team since her freshman year.

Martinez has been selected captain of the Cross Country team for the past two years.

Head coach, Raymond Montes, said, “Her dedication and work ethic has resulted in a steady improvement throughout the season and a reduction in her race times by more than a minute.”

While she has succeeded in her individual running, she has supported her teammates as well.

Montes said, “In addition to her running abilities, she is a team leader, motivator, and respected member of the team.”

Cross country teammate, Maria Hobbs, said, “Britney is a great support system. She always gets the team pumped before our races.”

She is headed off to the state competition on November 2nd.

She has surely shown her strength to the Loretto Cross Country team and is planning on continuing her running career into college.
