Everyone knows and tolerates Saint Valentine’s Day every February 14.

Now, however, as popularized by the TV show Parks and Recreation, something more meaningful than romance is being celebrated.

February 13 is the best day of the year: Galentine’s Day.

This is a day when all there is to worry about is spending time with friends.

There’s no need to buy expensive jewelry for a partner or go out to dinner at an overpriced restaurant.

Students fortunate enough to attend Loretto Academy also received candy from the student council in celebration of Galentine’s Day.

All that’s necessary on this day is telling friends they are appreciated and lounging around with them in pajamas.
