Winter+break+shenanigans

Many Loretto students had a very different and intriguing 2019 winter break.

Winter Break is an amazing time to de-stress from the hectic week that was finals.

Many Loretto students choose to spend their winter break differently.

This year’s winter break spanned from December 23 to January 3.

Some laid in bed all day and binge-watched Netflix shows or watched all their favorite movies of their childhood on Disney+, while others went on trips to Europe or went skiing.

Renee Inarritu, a junior, went on a trip to Spain with her sister Renata Inarritu, a junior at Radford.

Renee and her sister went to Ourense, Spain and met up with a friend they had met on a trip they took last summer to Asia.

Inarritu said, “We had such a fun time staying with my friend in Spain and staying there for Christmas and New Year’s.”

As fun as going to Europe for the holidays is, staying at home with your family enjoying the quality time is just as fun.

Isabella Baca, a junior at Loretto, said, “Over Winter break I tried to enjoy my family, especially since my older brother got engaged, so I’m trying try to be more of a family person this year.”

On Christmas, Baca spent time with her family and enjoyed having her brothers home and the family all together.

Jimena Vega, a sophomore, said, “I had a fun time during winter break going to Valle de Bravo. It was relaxing being away from school and all the stress.”

As winter break came to an end we quickly returned to the reality of going school; however, the memories of Winter break are forever ingrained in our hearts.
