After two weeks off from school were spent enjoying the holidays, sleeping in, and eating tamales, students were weary to return to school and readjust to their hard schedules.

Walking into the locker room on Tuesday, January 7, any person could feel the dread and rising stress levels almost immediately.

Freshmen came back with new gifts and confidence, now knowing the routine at school and where their classes were located and how to properly study for them.

Sophomores returned to school in hopes of quickly ending one of the hardest years at Loretto.

Juniors came back to school more stressed about the SATs, ACTs, and if there was going to be a quiz for Mrs. Lockhart’s AP English III class over The Alchemist.

Maria Hobbs, a junior, said, “ It didn’t take very long to get adjusted, you eventually get back on schedule and the workload seems normal again.”

Seniors have returned to Loretto with the worst gift of all, senioritis – making them realize that now they’re only at school to finish what they started and to quickly begin their journey to college.

The second semester brings new feelings to Loretto, whether it be finding one’s place as a freshman, or beginning the journey to college applications as a junior.

Coming back to Loretto in 2020 has set in new feelings, even if the first few weeks back are tough and take some time getting used to again.
