On Friday, November 22, Loretto Academy Middle and High School donated various goods for the annual Thanksgiving food drive.

Student council, social action, and Mrs. Pasaret all helped move food items into the science lab for a final count that afternoon.

Mrs. Helen Martinez said, “We did not receive as many turkeys as we normally do.

“We received about half the quantity that we normally receive, but we did receive a lot of the other stuff.”

This year, freshmen donated peanut butter and jelly, sophomores donated spaghetti and sauce, juniors donated mashed potatoes and canned corn, and seniors donated pancake mix and syrup.

The food went to Annunciation House, the Opportunity Center for the Homeless, Reynold’s Home, and Sacred Heart Church.

Mrs. Martinez said, “We tried to get as many donations as we could, so every place could get what they needed.”

All in all, this year’s food drive was incredibly successful.

This annual donation helps Loretto Academy enforce our sense of community this Thanksgiving season.
