Jayne Nowak is just a freshman, but that just makes it even more impressive for being the athlete of the month.
Adapting to Loretto is really hard, and adding a sport that takes up a lot of time makes it even harder.
Tennis coach Sergio Acosta said, “She’s a great new addition to the team.
“She had a great match against Coronado winning in straight sets at the number four spot.”
The Loretto/Cathedral Tennis team is number two in the city as of this season.
Nowak has been playing tennis for six years.
Nowak said, “Tennis is usually an individual sport, so it’s really fun being part of a team because everyone supports you, and it’s really nice to have teammates as fun and caring as everyone is.”
