Loretto Academy’s robotics team, also known as the Angelbots, is in the middle of an amazing year, bringing home all sorts of awards and wins.

Each competition, the girls are tasked with bringing their robot to compete in multiple challenges and games, and the teams are also questioned by judges on their knowledge of their particular robot.

The girls recently had a competition in Plano, TX where they ranked 2nd place on robot performance in the finals.

The team also won the “Engineering Inspiration Award”.

The Engineering Inspiration Award is given to the team whose design is well made, who can best describe their robot and their ideas behind it, and the team who had advanced engineering the most in their own school and community.

Anaissa Rodriguez was particularly recognized as a Safety Captain finalist.

This victory will take the Angelbots to the district championships on April 3-6.

The Loretto Angelbots secured a position at the Robotics World Championships this past week, and are now ranked 24th in the state.

Congratulations girls, and good luck!
