Meet Loretto Sophomore, Analia Cortez.

Analia swims for the varsity team here at Loretto Academy.

Congratulations to the young sophomore, as she recently qualified for State, taking place in early February, for the 100 meter butterfly.

This will be Analia’s second appearance at State in two years.

When did you first start swimming?

“I have been swimming competitively since I was four years old.”

What is your favorite thing about swimming?

“My favorite thing about swimming is being able to feel the strength and power you have. Seeing how much better and stronger you can get.”

What is your favorite swimming memory?

“My favorite swimming memory is from last year, when my coach told me I made it in the top three and I was going to State for my individual event.”

What keeps you motivated?

“My motivation for swimming is my fear of failing.”

What does being a teammate mean to you?

“Being a teammate to me, means that you are there to support everyone and push each other to do our best, even if its everyday at 5:30 in the morning.”
