Loretto has long supported and inspired women to go into fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM).

Be it though advanced courses, Science Fairs, the new WiSE Festivals, and now our incredible robotics team: The Angelbots.

Every year the girls design a complex robot that competes with others across the city and even the region.

So far, they have begun recruiting new members, planning and begin building their device, and received guidance from companies like National Instruments and Valtrek.

This year’s president, Samantha Perez, is excited for the Angelbots as their invention is in the works.

She said, “I am looking forward to traveling and competing in several competitions this year, I’m also looking forward to all the experiences of talking to the teams from Texas and all the new people”.

This year the girls’ first competition will be March 1 -3 in El Paso.

Then they will travel out of town to Plano, TX March 14 – 16.
