Juniors ride along service

Loretto is structured under four core values: faith, community, justice, and respect.

Juniors are assigned to be the example and represent community of the four core values.

The class of 2020 will be participating in a service learning that involves horses around late February or early March.

Juniors will be working with the Therapeutic Horse Reck Center that dedicates itself providing therapy for people with handicaps.

The people that receive therapy get on horses and ride them.

Junior head sponsor Mrs. Cortez said “I’m looking forward to it because it is something we have not done yet and I think it is a very hands-on activity.

“I am excited for this because it is an event that can spark something in our juniors.”

For the juniors to be able to volunteer at this center, they must take a three day class in order to be fully prepared.

Once prepared, the juniors will do a variety of tasks such as cleaning, brushing the horses, and even walking the horses with the riders.
