On November 26, Loretto Academy held an Advent presentation for students and their families to come learn more about the wreath tradition and grow in their Catholic faith.

The Advent wreath is a Christian tradition which celebrates the four weeks prior to Christmas Day.

The wreath itself is evergreen, with three purple candles and one pink, and lighting it is a big way to celebrate the coming of Christ.

Organized by the religion department, the presentation was discussion-style, where girls talked about the Advent season, how to celebrate it, the wreath tradition, and the importance of faith in the family.

Senior Fernanda Quevedo, who attended the Advent presentation, said, “It was a great way to reconnect to my faith and incorporate my family into it.

It also served as a reminder that the concepts we learn in school should be applied to out lifestyles.”

This presentation the Loretto administration gave to its community members is sure to follow into our holiday celebrations this Christmas season!
