Every year the Salvation Army holds a Toy Drive where individuals can donate gifts for children in need.
The Salvation Army is an international charitable organization.
It was founded in London, 1865 by William Booth and Catherine Booth.
The Salvation Army was established in El Paso in May 1898.
Throughout the El Paso community many join as volunteers or make donations such as clothing and/or food.
Its message is based on the Bible, its ministry is motivated by the love of God.
Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.
The way in which Loretto Academy is able to donate was designed by Dana Rincon, a senior, who classified this drive as an Angel Tree.
She was able to host a donation drive which takes place during Christmas in gifting presents to young children.
Girls are able to volunteer and receive a paper which contains the child’s name, age, and their wants/needs.
Many children ask for toys such as Play-Doh and coloring books while others ask for gloves, socks, and jackets.
The class of 2025 is the main grade level that is participating and if any other girls are interested they are more than welcome to join.
The deadline was December 10 which gave Dana time to deliver the gifts before Christmas.
The Salvation Army is always open to donations and volunteers, they strive for helping the well being of other individuals.
