As Christmas break approaches, Loretto Academy students can feel the overwhelming stress of finals coming up.
Finals can be daunting for students, but by using effective study hacks like scheduling, finding a distraction-free space, and staying positive, success is within reach.
Here are a few tips and tricks to get you through finals:
Create a Study Schedule
Begin by organizing your time; make lists in a planner for each test you need to study for.
Plan study sessions for each subject, but remember that you need breaks to prevent stress.
Find a Place to Study
Ask yourself, what is the perfect study environment?
Find a place where there are no distractions, such as friends or loud music; it can be a cozy coffee shop, library, room, or even outdoors.
Make sure to pack all your materials, such as colored pens, highlighters, post-its, and study material.
Eat the Right Snacks
Having the perfect snack is crucial for studying.
This can include coffee, water, or some sort of energizing drink.
You can also enjoy popcorn, grapes, dried fruit, trail mix, apples with peanut butter, hummus and vegetables, or dark chocolate.
Pomodoro Technique
The Pomodoro Technique is a popular study hack that ensures rest.
This technique utilizes a focused time interval of 25 minutes, which is then followed by a five-minute break, before repeating the process three times.
After the third, take a 30-minute break and then repeat.
Stay Positive
Remember that all the studying will pay off in the end; finals are temporary.
It is key to remain calm; breathing and meditation techniques can help overcome stress and anxiety.
Prepare for Test Days
Set a reminder to pack all necessary materials the day before the final.
This may include the iPads, pencils, pens, or material for a presentation.
Make sure to go to bed early and have a nutritious breakfast the morning of the exam.
