In the past 80 years, the movie A Star is Born has been remade over three times since it originally came out in 1937.
To keep the movie industry going, directors and movie producers have to keep movies up to date but while still keeping things from the past and this is seen when movies are remade especially more than one time.
Recently, Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper starred in a rendition of the movie A Star Is Born.
Despite the differences in all four movies, the backbone of the plot is the same for all.
The story consists of a famous musician or actor, depends on which version you’re watching, finding a girl who is trying to make it in either the musical industry or the movie industry.
The famous man discovers the girl at a party or at a place where she performs and they almost immediately hit it off.
Early on in the movie you find out that the man has a serious drinking problem, which he can’t seem to shake off.
Despite this, the aspiring actress/singer falls in love with him.
The aspiring actress/singer starts to become more famous as her husband begins to drink more.
Later, he tries to help himself and learns that the wife is planning on changing her life in order to take care of him.
He feels guilty and does what he feels is best for the wife.
To show she loves him, she gives one last performance in his honor, and decides that it is best to keep performing for in his honor.
The movies all vary despite the similarities.
In the first movie, made in 1937, the girl is an aspiring actress and meets the man at a party.
Janet Gaynor played the girl who was noticed by Fredric March.
In the second movie, made in 1957, it starts leaning more towards music but still has the theatrical feel to it.
The second movie featured Judy Garland and James Mason.
The third movie, made in 1976, has a lot more singing and almost none of the original movie’s acting desire.
The third movie featured Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson.
The final movie, released this year, has an original soundtrack and is directed by Bradley Cooper himself and is all about the music industry.
In the first two movies the actresses win an oscar and the husband drunkenly walks onto the stage and embarasess her.
Despite all the similarities and differences all the movies have their own unique touch put in by the actresses and actors.
