As a school filled with the love of a sisterhood, the students believe it is important they receive an opportunity to show that women are fully capable of sports.

The school year is just beginning and flag football tryouts are now coming into play, bringing more attention to the ladies that will be seen on the field soon.

 Mr. Nieto, the athletic director, said “Sports is a crucial component in school and it is an honor to help establish a flag football team and bring many other teams back to better our school and its environment.”

It is critical for people to understand the importance in establishing a new women’s flag football team. By establishing this women’s team it supports gender equality in Loretto’s sports community.

Girls vigorously compete in hopes of making the team excited to start this chain of involving women into flag football more.

The results are to be posted on Monday October 28th, Loretto Academy is excited to start this new season.

The season hasn’t started and it brings Loretto Academy joy in seeing girls working hard and competing to make the team showing great school spirit.

The students at Loretto asked Mr. Nieto how he feels about the start of the flag football team and he said with great enthusiasm, “It’s a great feeling knowing that girls can represent our school all while having fun, therefore embodying Loretto core values and greatly teaches the value of community as we come together.” 

The school looks forward to a solid team to represent Loretto proudly, female athletes can become role models for younger girls inspiring them to pursue their interests.

Loretto Academy supports the flag football team and can’t wait to see what this great group of girls bring to the field, encouraging other women.
