I got the idea to join The Prax end of junior year because I believed I wanted to major in English, as time went on my interest in majors changed but my dedication to The Prax stayed the same.
The Prax came with its hardships like quick deadlines, finding people to interview, and trying to find what stories should be included in the next issue.
These hardships do not overpower the feeling of accomplishment when I see by name under an article title.
It definitely took a while for me to feel confident enough to take someone’s statement but working in The Prax let me branch out and meet Loretto Academy students from every year level.
Journalism also forced me open my eyes to what is happening to the world around me.
I was able to form my own opinion on important topics and share them with my classmates.
I have always had trouble speaking my mind in class but thankfully Journalism helped me find my voice.
The Prax also let me amplify events going on in the Loretto community that are important to the people around me.
It also forced me to break out of my comfort zone and report on events I do not know much about.
The Prax definitely made my senior year memorable and I am going to miss contributing to this paper with all the other amazing writers.
