Every year, College Board chooses a select few high school students to be chosen as a Big Future Ambassador.
Big Future Ambassadors are students who have navigated the college application process and apply with the College Board to help other students by sharing their own personal experiences.
These select groups of students are chosen based on their academics but also their openness to share their stories with those around them.
Sarah Quintero was the perfect candidate for the award as she fits perfectly into the criteria.
Sarah is a junior at Loretto Academy and has contributed to the school with her confidence and intelligence.
She first came across the application on the College Board website.
Sarah said, “ I was going through the College Board/BigFuture website, and I saw that the applications to become a Big Future Ambassador had opened.
So I clicked on it to see what it consisted of and I decided to apply!”
Being a Big Future Ambassador also means sharing with students your own personal academic journey, Sarah has an amazing story that is inspiring amongst her peers.
Sarah said, “Holding this title essentially means that I get to help my peers look for possible scholarships, careers, majors, and colleges they can attend.
But to me it’s much more significant since I am a first generation student in the US, and I was completely lost in the process of college.
As an ambassador I can make sure that other first-generation girls don’t get lost in the process like I did.”
Sarah shines amongst all the students at Loretto Academy, her counselor Mrs. Oaxaca said, “I’m very proud of Sarah for taking the initiative to apply to become a Big Future Ambassador.
Big Future is a free online resource through College Board that helps students plan for college.
As an ambassador, Sarah will be an asset to Loretto by sharing college resources with students.”
Sarah Quintero has a very promising future and her intelligence is fostered everyday at Loretto Academy.
She is the secretary of the Women Empowering Women Club and vice president of the Speech and Debate Club, all of these accomplishments she accredits to her mother.
Sarah said,“My mom has always pushed me to do my best, be a helping hand throughout my community, and put myself out there.
If there is anyone I attribute my accomplishments to, it is my mom.”
Sarah’s classmates also see the dedication she puts into her academics.
One of Sarah’s classmates, junior, Yvette Gomez, said, “Sarah is an outgoing, sweet and very energetic person.
When hearing the news about her being selected as being an Ambassador I was thrilled and glad they chose her as she is the perfect person for this opportunity.”
Congratulations to Sarah Quintero from the Loretto Prax for this well deserved opportunity!
