The Loretto track team sure knows how to race!
Track season started off in January and will continue until the end of May.
The girls have participated in nine meets so far and have placed in several of them.
Track captain and Loretto senior, Amelie Juarez, said, “The team has been doing good so far!
Every meet we have medaled, and many runners have broken personal records and there’s been tremendous growth and drop in times which is good.”
Junior, Mia Moreno, broke the 400 meter record for the school at the Cathedral/Loretto invitational meet, which was held at Bowie.
Moreno said, “ For this season, I’m most excited about continuing to push myself and pursuing increasingly better race times, but I’m also really excited to see what my teammates can achieve and how they’ll continue to improve!”
The team is looking forward to doing well in the regional track meet which will be in Dallas, April 24th and 25th which will qualify them to state competition!
