On Thursday, March 21, 2024, Loretto Academy will be welcoming volunteers from all over El Paso, Texas who are looking to donate blood.
The blood drive is taking place from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with volunteers brought in by National Honor Society (NHS) to donate their blood for Vitalant.
Vitalant makes sure this process is safe, as they care for the donor during and after the donation by providing snacks and beverages for them to feel their best after donating.
NHS president, Sophia Merjil, said, “Running the blood drive is always a hard task but it’s made easier with the help of Vice President Mia Bolivar and Secretary Lelia Morales.
We are able to bring in a higher number this year in blood units and help more people.
The blood drive is NHS’ largest project as it takes everyone to help make it happen.
Overall, I’ve learned that it is important to help raise more awareness for blood drives and how important they are especially because we don’t know when one of us or someone we love will need blood at any time in our life.”
The blood drive is a vital part of giving back to our community, and Loretto aims to continue serving its community.
