As winter break comes to an end, one thing that all seniors look forward to in Loretto Academy’s spring semester is the senior retreat.
The Senior Retreat has been a long-standing tradition in Loretto, hoping to further strengthen the bonds of sisterhood found in all Loretto students.
There is little known about what happens during the retreat, as an air of secrecy protects all that is done during this three-day event.
Senior, Abigail Silvas, said, “I have been looking forward to this retreat since I was in middle school.
I am so excited to share this time with my friends.”
The retreat is composed of fun, memory-building activities that work to build new friendships and strengthen existing ones.
This retreat takes place in the Holy Cross Retreat Center in Mesilla Park, New Mexico.
Since the center is away from El Paso, Texas, the Loretto seniors can focus on themselves and their peers as they work on their school relationships.
Senior, Carolina Herrera, said, “I was a bit skeptical about going on the retreat at first, I didn’t think it was going to impact me so much.
This retreat is a good way to not only connect with God, but with my friends and other students I don’t talk to as much.
I feel connected with the whole senior class now.”
Although what happens on retreat is kept secret, there is a notable change between how the senior class interacts with each other now.
