As the school year starts each class gifts something to the freshman class so they feel a warm welcome.
Hey Week was during the last week of August, from August 28th to September 1st, which includes the most anticipated event, the Big Sister/Little Sister Picnic.
During the course of the week the freshmen had different activities that helped them interact with each classification from high school.
Starting Monday, we had Crazy Hat Day, seniors ‘‘biggies’’ came up with a creative hat for their freshman ‘‘littles’’ and they got to wear it the whole week.
Tuesday was more mental focused, where the sophomores gifted a survival kit to a freshman.
Wednesday came the most anticipated day of the week, Big Sister/Little Sister Picnic!
Seniors and freshman went to Biggs Park at Fort Bliss to have the annual picnic.
As the Loretto freshman Ana Ortega said ‘‘My favorite day was probably of the picnic since we got to skip school and hangout and socialize.’’
For Thursday the juniors exchanged ice cream with a freshman.
To wrap up the week, Friday was a fun day for ‘‘biggies’’ and ‘‘littles’’ to dress up as twins, using matching shirts or sweaters and socks!
We hope to continue having expectant upcoming freshmans to enjoy the tradition with every class.
