Battle of the Sexes

Loretto and Cathedral went face to face against each other for the 4th annual Battle of the Sexes volleyball game, which took place on October 26 in Loretto’s gym.

Loretto’s varsity team had been training hard the previous weeks in order to prepare for the game, which allowed them to be victorious.

The members of Cathedral’s team even made sure to be present during Loretto’s games as preparation for the match to come.

A member of Loretto’s team, Barbara Urias said: “We were really confident throughout the game because we had prepared for it.

“Cathedral’s team attended one of our practices once, which made us feel even more confident about the game.

We did get nervous during the third set because Cathedral points’ worth were doubled, we thought we would get sent to a fifth set.”

The energy coming from the Loretto angels who came in support of our volleyball team was palpable in the air.

Loretto students filled the stands wearing silly attire in order to cheer for our team.

Both teams worked hard, and the scoreboard showed the match to be a tight game, but in the end, Loretto remained victorious.

Hello, my name is Paulina Garcia, I'm a senior at Loretto, and this is my first year writing for The Prax.

I’m overjoyed to be working as a staff reporter for The Prax, as I hope to be able to talk and meet a variety of people with diverse points of view.

This is my third year at Loretto, and I’m grateful to have made some amazing friends along the way.

Whenever I’m not writing for the school paper, you can find me at your nearest Pilates class or buried in a book.

My future plans involve attending a university where I hope to study psychology.

I’m extremely grateful to be part of The Prax this year, and I’ll contribute to it so we can bring the most important news to every member at Loretto.
