As Halloween approaches, Loretto Academy gets in the Halloween spirit by coming together and participating in friendly competition.
On October 17th, Loretto Academy partook in its annual pumpkin decorating tradition.
“Hold the Mic, Raise the Volume” celebrated musicians from various decades, allowing all the homerooms to have a unique take with their pumpkin.
The freshmen had the 2000’s, sophomores had the 70’s, juniors had the 60’s, and the seniors had the 80’s.
The hall is filled with people speed walking, trying to win the trivia game going on as people huddle together to work on their pumpkin.
The seniors took the most wins with the Madonna and Michael Jackson pumpkin winning first and second place for best overall pumpkin.
The third place for the overall best pumpkins went to the freshmen with their Britney Spears pumpkin.
The junior class went all out on their backdrop and got awarded with winning the best backdrop category.
The seniors also won best theme with their 80’s themed pumpkins and Mrs. Cortez’s homeroom won the most creative pumpkin with an Elton John pumpkin.
Student Council member, Andrea Avila, said, “As a homeroom representative, I love being able to excite my homeroom to work their hardest and create a pumpkin we can be proud of.”
Loretto Academy’s pumpkin decorating is a long-awaited tradition; loved for the class participation and teamwork.
Homerooms always love this time to come together and have fun competing as a school.
